Police detained 52 persons including the party’s leader Tilak Pariyar and Chairperson of ANNFSU revolutionary Sharad Rasaili from various parts of the Valley, according to SP Biswaraj Pokharel. Some of those arrested had carried petrol with them, he said.

Republica reports Chand-led Maoist organised today’s bandh protesting the India-China bilateral agreement over Lipu Lekh–a piece of land in Nepal bordering the two neighbouring countries. The agreement was reached, while keeping Nepal in the dark, during India PM Narendra Modi’s visit to China in May 2015.
