4 Dead In Chitwan Truck-Car Collision

The number of death toll in a truck-car collision at Darechowk-9 in the district has reached 4 after an injured breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.

Three people died on the spot  and two others were seriously injured in the truck-car collision on Tuesday morning.

Those who died on the spot have been identified as car driver Sirjan Pokharel, Saroj Tiwari and Lalita Tiwari of Lapsiphedi, Kathmandu while injured Sadhuram Tiwari, who was rushed to Chitwan Medical College, died in the course of treatment.

Another injured Ayusha Tiwari of Lapsiphedi, Kathmandu is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

The incident occurred when a truck, Na 4 Kha 441, en-route to Kathmandu collided head-on with a car, Ba 3 Cha 5516, coming from the opposite direction at 8 am today, said DSP Shantiraj Koirala.

The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Meanwhile, the police are launching a manhunt to nab the absconding driver and  investigating into the incident.

Five people were said to be traveling by car.
