The festival had to offer wholesome fun. From food stalls to performances from Nepal’s only contemporary circus act Circus Kathmandu, to musical performances, the fiesta had it all. Taking the stage to play superb fusion music were Nepali folk instrumental ensemble Kutumba and folk group from the UK, Dallahan who also tried their hands on popular Nepali folk tune Resham Firiri… The show was brought to an end by DJ Goldie Rocks who launched the radio show The Selector – an eclectic mix of different kinds of music from British acts, followed by DJ session. One can tune in to the Nepal rendition of The Selector on Hits FM 91.2 every Wednesday 9:00-10:00 pm.

2015-16 had been a celebration year for Britain and Nepal as we complete 200 years of bilateral relation between the two countries. To mark this celebration British Council in partnership with the British Embassy had organised numerous activities in UK and Nepal. This cultural Fair is specially organised by the Council to mark the closing ceremony of a yearlong celebration.

Nepal and the UK celebrated two hundred years of friendship and partnership in March 2016. During those two hundred years our relationship has developed, changed and ultimately grown much closer. Working together our two countries will be stronger. The Bicentenary year will celebrate our historic relationship but more importantly it will cement and strengthen UK-Nepal links for the future.
