Buzz Aldrin, Second Man On The Moon In Nepal

American engineer and former astronaut Buzz Aldrin arrived in Nepal on Sunday (September 4, 2016) with a six-member team. Aldrin, who is the second among 12 persons to have stepped on the Moon, spent a whole day in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, along with his team members on Monday.

Executive Chairman of Everest Science Center Nepal (ESCN) Dilip Adhikari said that Dr Aldrin and his team returned to Kathmandu on Monday evening by a Buddha Air flight. The Nepali scientist is accompanying them.

Joining Dr Aldrin in his trip to Nepal are his son Andrew Aldrin, daughter-in-law, the manager of Buzz Aldrin Enterprises, the Chairman of NASA Houston America Elizabeth Lawrence and scientist Joseph Lawrence. Aldrin’s son Andrew is on a mission to establish human settlement on Mars whereas scientist Joseph Lawrence is preparing to launch a rocket named Orean to Mars.

Aldrin is said to reach Biratnagar on Tuesday morning to take part in a program hosted by ESCN. He is scheduled to share his former astronaut experiences for two hours to representatives of ESCN on the premises of ESCN, Sunsari. On Tuesday, Dr Buzz Aldrin and Dr Andrew Aldrin are set to give a presentation at Everest Science Center in Nepal, as mentioned on his official website buzzaldrin.com. They  will also give a presentation at the Academy Hall, Kathmandu on Thursday, according to the website.
