Coca-Cola in Nepal, today released the official Coca-Cola Anthem of the FIFA World Cup 2014. Titled ‘The World is Ours’ –the anthem brings the music of Brazil to the world and captures the local rhythms of samba, ballet funk and techno brega featuring vocals from Brazilian born singer David Correy and sounds from Monobloco, a Brazilian street band.
Correy will travel the globe as part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, performing concerts along the 89-country route including Nepal on 21 December,2013 and leading up to the tournament’s kickoff in June 2014 in São Paulo, Brazil. During his tour across the world, Correy will be collaborating with different local artists to add local sounds from around the world. For the first time ever, Coca-Cola will also be allowing local markets to localize the global anthem, which will all be taken back to create the World’s anthem, with sounds collected from across the world.
Along with Correy, Monobloco has provided authentic Brazilian rhythms and textures to the Coca-Cola anthem. The song has been produced by Mario Caldato Jr., a Brazilian-born, California-raised sound engineer, record producer and all-round music technician, along with songwriters Rock Mafia, who have become one of the most successful songwriter and producer of the last decade.
‘The World is Ours’ communicates the power of striving to achieve your dreams. The lyrics stand for togetherness and discovery, a celebration of music and life set to a powerful and uplifting melody.
