observe Nepal’s Constituent Assembly election scheduled to take place on November 19.

President Carter and the Carter Center leadership team held talks with President Ram Baran Yadav at the Office of the President at Sheetal Niwas. On the occasion, they discussed on the latest political developments, the upcoming election and fundamental issues to be written in the new constitution after election.  Similarly, President Yadav familiarized the founder of the Carter Center that the government was committed to holding the CA election in a free and fearless manner and sufficient number of security personnel had been deployed for the same. He also informed that all the preparation for the CA election were completed.

The Center’s mission  include more than 50 observers representing 27 nations deployed throughout the country, according to the Carter Center.

In the 25-minute long meeting, Carter informed that a team of the Center led by him will observe various polling booths and vote counting sites in the Kathmandu Valley in cooperation with the European Union Observation Mission.

Carter also met with Chairman of Interim Election Council (IEC) Khil Raj Regmi at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday morning.
