Fourth Toronto Nepali Film Festival On Its Way

After three stunningly successful years, the fourth annual Toronto Nepali Film Festival (TNFF) will be held this year.

TNFF is a non profit organization established with the primary intention of supporting independent filmmakers who go beyond their means to tell their stories about Nepal and Nepalis and promoting their work in an international platform. Run entirely by volunteers, TNFF is dedicated to create a wider audience and a greater awareness regarding relevant Nepali issues.

They showcase feature length films, documentaries, animation, experimental, shorts and movies of other genres by filmmakers from all race, nationality, creed and gender. They not only encourage films based on indigenous languages to celebrate diversity but also encourage participation of women filmmakers and filmmakers of marginalized communities.

In the past, we have screened films that have been screened in various film festivals around the world and have also won prestigious awards in Nepal and abroad. This year, the organizers aim to widen the participation and increase the amount of honorarium and award prize that the filmmakers receive. Hence, they are seeking moral as well as monetary support.
