With Nepal Tourism Year 2011 in full swing, it’s been a busy busy business for the accommodation service providers! For tourists planning a holiday within the country without booking hotel rooms in advance, there might be some disappointment in store as most hotels are reporting cent percent bookings till next month.
Star and non-star hotels in the Kathmandu valley and in other major tourist destinations such as Chitwan and Pokhara maintain that from mid-October till mid-November 100 percent rooms are booked.
Rooms at five star hotels like Hotel De l´Annapurna and Yak And Yeti are either sold out or booked for most of this month as well as for November. Situation in tourist hubs like Chitwan and Pokhara is no different. Source from Rhino Lodge in Chitwan said although the first two weeks were not so satisfactory, bookings till mid-November are overwhelming with 100 percent bookings for most days.
On the other hand, hoteliers have increased the room tariff from 20 to 25 percent this season as compared to the last one.
