When asked how he felt about the release of the movie in Nepal, McFarland shared, “I’m so excited about it. I had made a commitment when we were filming here that I wanted to be able to release it here before we did in the United States but I was sad for all of the reasons when the tragedy struck with the devastating earthquake and also because I didn’t think we’d be able to have it released here in Nepal. So, I’m just so honoured and thrilled to finally be able to show this film to the people and the country that we filmed in.”

Mainly set amidst the scenic beauty of Nepal, Highway To Dhampus is a slow-paced film about love, life and things that matter the most in life. The story mostly revolves around four characters; Elizabeth, a spoiled British heiress, photojournalist Colt, pilot Ajit and Laxmi, headmistress of an orphanage. A certain circumstance brings all these four together that changes their lives forever. It’s a tale that makes you laugh, cry and reminds us to appreciate the little things in life.

Each of the actors has given applaudable performance. And director McFarland has captured the real essence, the real side of Nepal.
