Maoist Bandh Affecting Different Parts of Country

As predicted, the maoist bandh has struck the country today (November 11, 2013) opposing to the CA Election that is going to be held on November 19, 2013 (Mangsir 4, 2070).

According to Mountain Television, vehicles have been vandalized in different parts of the capital, some have been set on fire. The channel also reported that 34 protesters have been arrested so far. Petrol bombs and Khukuri were confiscated from them.

The Nepal bandh organised by the Mohan Baidhya-led party (CPN-Maoist) has also affected places outside the Valley. Suspicious objects were reported to be found in Jhapa whereas daily life and transportation have been hindered in Nepalgunj.

Security has been tightened to avoid further mishaps.

Update:

A parked bus was set on fire at Thimi.

A taxi was vandalized at Koteshwore and its passenger was also injured.

Bombing was attempted on a bus in Bhakundebesi of Kavre.

A UCPN-Maoist office building, which was under construction, in Dhunkuta was bombed.

A government vehicle was set on fire in Kamalvinayak.
