Nepal Advances Ahead To ACC T20 Cup Semifinals

Good news for all Nepali cricket fans! Nepal gained victory over Singapore on Sunday(March 31) in the ACC T20 Cup by 121-runs, securing a spot in the semifinals as well as the World T20 Qualifiers in the process.

The match took place at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur where Nepal was elected to bat first and posted 210/5 in 20 overs — its biggest ever total in T20 — as the middle-order batsmen added 133 runs in the last 10 overs. In reply, Singapore was all out for 89 runs in 15.1 overs as Nepali spinners dominated the show with 121-run victory.

The win has let Nepal finish the group stage as the runner-up of Group A, where Hong Kong is at the top. Nepal will take on Group B winner, the UAE, in the semifinal on Tuesday while Hong Kong will lock horns with Group B runner-up Afghanistan.

On Saturday (March 30), Nepal defeated Malaysia by 19 runs which strengthened its chances of advancing to semifinal. Skipper Paras Khadka chipped in with brilliant 87 runs of 64 balls that included 11 fours and three boundaries to help Nepal set a 164-run target against Malaysia.
