Nepal Bandh Hits Again

Once again, sever bandh has struck Nepal again. This time the nationwide closure has been enforced by the United Brahmin Chhetri Struggle Committee demanding the national integrity and ethnic goodwill.

Although business is as of usual in Kathmandu with shops and institutions not shut down, vehicular movement has remained partially affected on Thursday morning. While two-wheelers and cabs are resisting the imposed bandh, most of the public vehicles have started running on the road, defying the bandh.

Commuters heading to terminus were hit hard in the morning amid the uncertainty that vehicles will run on the road or not. The +2 students appearing for the exams faced hardships in reaching their centres as public buses did not ply in the morning.

Meanwhile, Nepal police personnel have also been mobilised to prevent any untoward incidents during the imposed bandh. So far, not any cases of vandalism and demonstrations have been informed in the capital but police have arrested eight bandh enforcers from Kalanki and Battisputali.
