Nepal crashes out of SAARC T20 cricket tourney

Nepal crashed out of the ongoing SAARC U-25 Twenty20 Cricket Tournament after losing its last league match against Pakistan by 77 runs in Maldives on Saturday.

Winning the toss and electing to take the field first, Nepal conceded 176 runs taking eight wickets in 20 overs. The Pakistani innings was built mainly around Mohammad Rameez´s 48 off 22 balls and Ali Khan´s  62 off 41 balls.

Nepali bowler Krishna Karki grabbed four wickets, while skipper Paras Khadka accounted for three Pakistani wickets.

In reply, Nepal was able to muster only 100 runs. The result also meant Pakistan will now face hosts Maldives in the semifinals.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated India´s Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIC) by six wickets and lost its opening match against Sri Lanka by 76 runs.
