But here’s good news for those who usually leave late from work and have to go through such a hassle.  The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) in collaboration with the National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs (NFNTE) has decided to launch a night bus service in Kathmandu and Lalitpur from next month.

The night bus service, the first of its kind in Kathmandu, will commence from August 17 and will operate for three hours from 8 pm. However, night buses would be on a trial basis for six months and would continue if it is financially sustainable but KMC chief Kedar Bahadur Adhikari believes that their new service will benefit a large number of people who are facing problem to travel at night.

14 buses has been agreed upon to operate  on six routes in the Capital and the fare will not exceed the existing daytime charge. Each night bus will be of 30-seat capacity with an identical colour and all the bus staff are supposed to display their identity cards.
