Paras Shah Arrested in Thailand For Possession of Marijuana

Former crown prince Paras Shah was arrested for possession of marijuana in Thailand on July 10.

According to various reports confirmed on Tuesday (July 15, 2014), Shah was carrying 12.6 grams (2 packets) of marijuana from Davis Hotel, Sukhumvit when he was nabbed by the Thai police. Possession and consumption of marijuana is illegal in many countries including Thailand.  43- year-old Shah, who has not been arrested for the first time on drug possession charges, is still in custody and local Thai police have not shared much details with Nepali authorities regarding his arrest.

The website for NDTV reports the Thai police also informed the Nepal embassy that he was presented at a local criminal court after being charged but declined to divulge details where he was kept.
