Raju Tamang Becomes Best Footballer of the Year ’72

Nepal’s national football team midfielder Raju Tamang was named the Best Footballer of the Year for 2072 BS by All Nepal Football Association of Nepal (ANFA) on Tuesday (May 31). Along with the title, the versatile midfielder has also been awarded cash prize of Rs 2.5 million. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli handed the cheque to the player amid a special function in Kathmandu.

Previous winners of the title Rakesh Shrestha, Sagar Thapa and Ritesh Thapa were provided apartments to Best Footballers. Former goalkeeper and striker Upendra Man Singh and Hari Khadka were also awarded with a car each. However, this time around, ANFA awarded cash prize to the title holder.
