The chariot procession of Rato Macchindranath stalled since a long time has again been postponed for a month, RSS has reported.
According to the news agency, the chariot procession had to be stopped for three months as a result of the April 25 earthquake and the malamas or the dark month of Ashar in the Lunar calendar.
Furthermore, the procession is being postponed again due to the ‘shukra tara astha’ starting from August 1, according to Chief of Guthi Sanstha Rudranath Adhikari.
The chariot procession of Rato Macchindranath had begun on April 22, three days before the devastating earthquake struck the country. The chariot is presently stationed at Chyasikot of Lalitpur.
