The body of late Guru Shamar Rimpoche was brought to Raniban-based Syarbhan Monastery in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening (July 29, 2014).

Rimpoche’s body was brought to the capital through a chartered helicopter from Bhutan. Tibetan Buddhist Guru Rimpoche breathed his last due to cardiac arrest while delivering speech on Buddha philosophy in Germany on June 11 last month.

There was dispute as to where his cremation would be performed.

The devotees from the country and abroad are eagerly waiting to see the body of Rimpoche.

“An arrangement has been made to allow devotees to observe the body of religious preacher from 8.00 a.m. to noon on Thursday,” said Monastery member Daba Sangbo Huelmopa.

Born in Tibet in 1952, Rimpoche has established 900 Buddhism study centres across the globe.

The Nepal government Tuesday decided to allow the cremation of Rimpoche in Nepal recognizing his contribution to religious and cultural development of the country.
