A grand event of its own kind, Designer of The Year 2013 was held on August 2nd, 2013 (Shrawan 18, 2070) at Hotel Shehenshah, Dhapasi. Organised by Reminisce Event Maniac, the event was a competition for designers as well as a unique fashion show that not only acted as a platform to showcase their talent but also gave a message to be eco-friendly. With the slogan as ‘Make Art, Not Was’, designers were asked to come up with creations by reusing waste materials. Models walked the ramp donning plenty of extremely creative designs using materials like rubber bands, bamboo, straw, jute sacks etc. However at the end, impressing the judges with her magnificent dress made out of spongy apple cover, Trishna Gurung was announced as the Designer of the Year 2013.  She walked away with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
