Tibetan Exiles Protest Outside UN House

Police have detained 14 Tibetan exiles who gathered in front of United Nations House in order to stage a sit-in demanding freedom for Tibet.

Eleven men and two women were held as they gathered in front of the UN House and started shouting “Free Tibet” slogans in the afternoon of February 24, informed, SP Bhog Bahadur Thapa at the Metropolitan Police Range (MPR), Jawalakhel. The occasion marked the third day of Losar or the Tibetan New Year.

He said that protesters had gathered outside the UN House one by one to trick the riot police deployed at the site.

The arrestees have been kept at MPR, Jawalakhel.
