Dallas Gurkhas Win 5th Dashain Cup

Vastika Dallas Gurkhas have won the 5th Dashain Cup 2016. The defending champions beat LA -11 to 2-1 in the finals to lift the trophy. This is their third consecutive win. The organizer team also received $1500 as cash prize while  the second place winner LA-11 were granted a cash prize of $800.00.

Roshan Devkota of Dallas Gurkhas was declared the MVP as well as the Highest Scorer with 12 goals during the entire soccer tournament. Similarly, Avinash Jha was announced as the Best Goal Keeper of the tournament.

The overall championship turned out to be a huge success. A total of 17 teams from across the States participated in the tournament which was witnessed by over 450 supporters from DfW area!

The organizers promise to make the 6th Dashain Cup bigger and better next year.

At the end of the event, Binod Bista, the Coordinator of Dallas Gurkhas, expressed his gratitude towards all the sponsors, supporters, volunteers, medias partners and the participating teams. Former Nepal national soccer player Umesh Pradhan and social worker Dhiren Gurung handed the trophies to the winner and runner-up teams.
