Christian Blanken LFW A/W 2012

Second day of London Fashion Week, I attended Christian Blanken’s show.  I was lucky enough to receive invitation from Christian Blanken to attend his show and after party. As I arrived in the venue, I was greeted with a very long queue of fashionistas. After waiting for few minutes, we were taken to catwalk area and I managed to grab seat on front row. The seat had goody bag filled with amazing hair products and expensive water. I felt little bit special. Filled by people, the place started to become noisy and all of sudden one of the photographer shouted on top of his lungs saying “Don’t cross your legs, it’s fashion show for god sake” .It felt bit harsh but at the end I realised that he didn’t wanted those crossed legs to be part of the picture they were taking. With the dim lights, the music started flowing and so did the beautiful tall models.

Christian Blanken designs for autumn/winter 2012 were clean sharp, hard edged tailoring for day and complex draping in fluid silk and viscose jerseys for evening. The most surprising design was the leathers and shearlings were designed like ponchos and side zipped funnel neck tunics. Black, ivory, range of greys, camel, chocolate, warm orange and red completed his collection.

Evening dresses were easy to slip on and off with simplicity, elegance and glamour. The back of the evening dresses fell loosely around the body. One of the dresses was incorporated with stunning militarily inspired belts and cuffs. Poker straight hair with centre parting was hairstyles of all the models.

Sadly, I didn’t got chance to attend the after party as I had work next day 🙁 Overall, it was just amazing experience.
