Bombs Planted At Half A Dozen Schools In Capital, Explosions At Two

Two pressure cooker bombs exploded at two schools in Jorpati on Tuesday morning (September 20, 2016).

According to SP Bikaram Singh Thapa, explosions took place at Akashdeep School and Manakamana School, as reported by the website of a national daily. No human casualties have been reported in the explosions.

Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were found planted at various schools in the capital.

As told by AIG Pratap Singh Thapa, the improvised bombs were found planted at Radiant School in Lalitpur, Kanchanjanga School in Dallu, Ray School in Bouddha, Akashdeep School, East Pole School and Manakamana School in Kathmandu.

A sheet of pamphlet belonging to Young Communist Force Nepal (YCFN) was found inside Manakamana school. The police are investigating the case and have already arrested two (three according to another  news source) people of YCFN for their alleged involvement in planting bombs.

“We have found various suspicious objects. We are investigating them. We have also found a sheet of pamphlet of YCFN. We arrested a group for their alleged involvement in planting bombs and torching various vehicles.”
