A bus headed to Kathmandu from Khotang has plunged some 200 meter down the road at Barkhetar of the district on Tuesday morning (April 12, 2016).

Police suggest passenger overload to be the cause of the accident. They informed the bus of the number Ba 2 Kha 6376 was already carrying 18 passengers.

According to a local named Guru Prasad Dhakal, the number of deceased has not been establish but assumed huge human loss.

Police for District Police Office, Area Police Office, Arkhaule and locals have reached the incident site to rescue and recover the dead bodies.

The reason behind the accident is not ascertained yet.
