We’re always proud of Nepalis doing well in the international arena. And the latest Nepali to make us happy happens to be Sudarshan Dhakal – a student at Oklahoma State University (OSU) who won the title of Mr International 2013 at the recently held OSU Mr and Ms International 2013. The pageant took place inside the Student Union Theater on November 13.

Dhakal was part of a competition that involved 10 international students hailing from all corners of the world, including Ghana, China, Mexico and India. He was able to impress everyone with his talent performance in which he tried to show his Nepali culture to an American girl though his dance in an effort to make her his friend.

Dhakal won a scholarship of $500.

Speaking to the OSU newspaper The Daily O’Collegian for the rest of the contestants, Dhakal credited his competitors with being good international representatives, “At last, only one person can win but actually, we all deserved to be Mr and Ms International.”

Rewan Zineldine of Egypt was crowned Ms International 2013.
