Nepali store clerk shot and killed at a BP Station in Georgia

Damodar Pathak, 39, was shot and killed Monday night during an armed robbery at a BP gas station in the 2100 block of Cedar Grove Road in Ellenwood near Atlanta, Georgia.

According to the police report, the shooting happened around 11:30 pm. There were two men who came into the store and fled after grabbing cash from the register. There was one other employee in the store who was inside a cooler restocking drinks and was uninjured.

Mr. Pathak was found with a wound to the chest. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Store owner Krishna Devkota told Channel 2 that he has seen the surveillance video of the incident. He said Mr. Pathak left his position behind protective glass at the counter to confront the robbers.

Mr. Pathak hails from Lalitpur and had been working as a gas station clerk for the past four years.
