Nepali student commits suicide in New York

A Nepali student pursuing nursing studies in New York has committed suicide on Sunday, April 15th.

Bhesh Raj Panday, 25, who hailed from Kerung of Agrakhachi district died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in New York. Panday was found unconscious at his apartment in Ridgewood, Sunday afternoon and rushed to a nearby hospital. The cause of death has not been confirmed, however preliminary reports indicate that Panday had committed suicide. According to news reports, authorities recovered poisonous medicine from Panday’a apartment.

Panday came to the U.S. five years ago. He had completed nursing course from Hostos college last year and had worked at hospital in North Carolina for few months.

Shree Parajuli, president of Nepali Ridgewood Society, informed that Panday was a gentle and friendly person but had been very concerned about his career lately.
