You all know Nirakar Yakthumba, the 1974 AD bassist. The Rockstar. With his band, he has, in a way, spearheaded Nepali rock music (don’t forget the occasional jazz and funk here and there) for over two decades now. And, this time around on M&S Inspire, he talks about why music makes him happier, how everything else he’s done and has been doing emanates from his passion for music, and why you need to dream.
A centre for music studies, the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory (KJC) celebrated World Music Day 2012 on 23rd June, Saturday at Moksh in their own style with a musical event that featured performances from the students as well as teachers.
