DSC00962It is a common challenge among children to receive permission from their parents regarding their admission in schools that are dedicated towards martial arts like karate, judo, Kickboxing, taekwondo and others. Comparing to the number of children taking the martial arts classes, the number of children not taking the classes despite their willingness is maximum.

Taking such classes is also a subject of challenge among adults as well. ‘Taking such martial arts classes is now risky because body movements required by the combat sports are now friendly to us’, says Satish Ratna Bajracharya, a civil engineer at Ideal Builders, New Road. His long time friend, Mendel Magar, also a civil engineer said, ‘We now fear about physical injuries inevitable while involving in activities of such sports’.

Parents, guardians or adults are more concerned about physical injuries inevitable while involving in activities of such combat sports. But few parents and adults believe that such combat sports are helpful in maintaining good health. ‘At this age, we keep ourselves busy in desk tasks and it is important to get involved in sports like these because it helps in maintaining physical updates, says Aadeep Rana, a cardio Kickboxing trainer at Rage Fitness Center, Tikhidewal.

Many enthusiasts are taking the classes dedicated to Cardio Kickboxing at Rage Fitness Center regularly. ‘I joined the classes for Cardio Kickboxing with a determination to lose weight and within three weeks, I am feeling that my body has become lighter than before and while weighing my weight, I am a kg lighter than before’, said Romans Karmacharya, a CKB student at Rage Fitness Center.

Many people do not realize the purpose of such sports and hesitate to join the classes. Some believe that these kinds of combat sports are just meant for male and not for female. ‘I had hesitated to join cardio Kickboxing because I thought it would focus on combating rather than fitness and would make my muscles look like weightlifters but now, I realized that CKB is the best combat sport to lose weight and stay healthy’, says Mingma Tamang, another students at the center.

Cardio Kickboxing is an exercise program that uses different kickboxing techniques utilizing materials such as training pads, heavy bags, light dumb bells, that provides cardiovascular benefits. Beginning with light body stretches and cardio warm up, the classes include hand strikes, punches, kicks and self-defense moves.

Cardio Kickboxing is the workout that involves high-energy workout capable of burning 450 calories in an hour. The workout that includes the techniques of martial arts and heart-pumping cardio is best to burn stubborn fat of the belly that are responsible for diseases like diabetes, heart diseases among other types of cancer. According to American Council on Education, ‘Cardio Kickboxing helps in increasing heart rate, burning of calories and fat’.

Cardio Kickboxing carry toning component as the workout requires the engagement of all muscle groups that helps in working on the back and trimming of the waist and eventually the entire body. This workout offers healthy way to knock down the frustrations out of all the systems of the body helping an individual to have better sleep and improve mental clarity. Boxing, as a part of Cardio Kickboxing, helps in releasing endorphins, a feel good chemical that can reduce stress.

Cardio Kickboxing that also involves precise punching and powerful kickboxing is best in building upper and lower body muscles. After practicing the workout for longer period of time, the hamstrings become stronger and the abdominal muscles are strengthened. After the routines of practices, the core strength is developed. The whole body workout saves time because all important aspects of exercising is involved efficiently using time involving respiratory and cardiovascular fitness, strength building, flexibility and body composition.
