Nepal’s Mahesh Maharjan Wins Gold At Asian Bodybuilding Championship

Mahesh Maharjan has won the gold medal at the 50th Asian Bodybuilding Championship being held in Thimpu, Bhutan. The Nepali bodybuilder on Tuesday aced in his weight category  of 70 kg. He defeated 10 contenders to secure first place finish in the event according to sources.

Mahesh celebrated his victory with a post on his Facebook saying “19 years of my hardwork & dedication in Bodybuilding & Fitness Profession, thank you all for your great support best wishes (sic).”

Mahesh’s gold medal haul in the weight category means he will also get a chance to compete in the overall category. The gold medal winner of each weight category is allowed to vie for the title of overall championship.

Suresh Gurung and Ram Bahadur Dahal who competed in the 55 kg and 65 kg categories failed to cross the pre-judging round, the initial rounds.
