NTC Introduces New Social Networking Portal ‘Meet’

The Nepal Telecom (NTC) launched their new social networking portal on Monday (January 18, 2016). Titled ‘Meet’, the site has been created with a prime objective of developing better relations among NTC customers.

The networking site was inaugurated by Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai who chatted with NTC Bhojpur Chief Ram Kumar Mahji on the site for the occasion. The new site allows users to exchange pictures, audio and visual, and texts while letting NTC staff to interact with the customers on various services of the company at the same time. The NTC will provide 10 SMS to customers cost-free through the new service. The customers can also avail of additional facility to send multiple messages in one-go by paying a certain fee in a package. The company also aims to continue to burnish the new site adding more services to it in order to meet customers growing demands.

The company has registered the new networking site under the domain name, www.meet.net.np. The network, whose brand name will be ‘Meet’, has been launched with an investment of around Rs 12.24 million.

On the occasion, Minister Rai expressed belief that the new social networking site launched by the NTC would be beneficial to all.

On a different note, he added that with the implementation of the new constitution the country would embark towards socio-economic development.

The Minister also confided that the negotiations with Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha on ending the protracted Tarai strike and blockade was in the final stages and solution will be sought within a day or two.
