The Indian Department of Forests is found to have encroached the no man’s land in Parasan to build a dam.
A team led by Chief District Officer Manohar Prasad Aryal carried out an observation of the dam site on Saturday. The team found that the Indian forest officials had encroached two meters of no-man’s land to build a dam.
The Indian side is reportedly building a three kilometer long dam encroaching the no-man’s-land from Nepal-India pillar no. 191 to 194, according to CDO Aryal. And India is doing so unilaterally.
CDO Aryal said the matter would be reported to the ministry and efforts shall be made to rectify the act in meetings with Indian officials.
India continues to encroach the border time and again due to ignorance on part of the Nepali side, said Din Bandhu Aryal of the Save Border Committee.
